Im assuming that FFX-2 topic would fall in here, so I was wondering if anyone could just give their personal opinion of the gameplay and all that, im getting it in 3 days anyhow, but I'd rather have a review from someone not getting payed for it.

Looks good from what I've seen of it (yes I snoop for presents...cuz santa fell off the roof a long time ago) :lol

Heh..lucky you...from what i have seen it is brilliant, but first hand i havent played it.
I know one of me freinds has it ..and has played it.
She kept getting frustrated because for at least 2 hours she trained and stuff..and then ended up getting killed or sumthing like that..and she wansnt too pleased.
One day i hope to get it and play it..it be well worth the wait.

I think fans were pretty divided about FFX-2. Hopefully, my little analysis here will give you an idea of what to expect.

Graphics:
Visually, Square Enix never disappoints. The visuals match the quality of the game's prequel. The environments are just plain gorgeous.

Gameplay:
FFX-2 has the coolest, most-enjoyable RPG battle system I've ever seen. It's incredibly fast paced. FFX-2 may not have been my favorite Final Fantasy, but the battle system is second to NONE.
There are also a HUGE variety of mini-games scattered throughout Spira, so you'll be entertained many an hour. The flow of the story is also much less linear than FFX, allowing you to zip through the story quickly or explore it in depth if you so choose.
My favorite addition is the New Game Plus feature, allowing you to go back and find scenes and dialogues you might have missed your first play-through.

Music:
Though it's the first FF title without Uematsu's compositional talents, the soundtrack is top-notch. It's stylistically very different from traditional FF music, including liberal use of new genres like funk, jazz, ethnic and J-pop to compliment the tradtional Final Fantasy style. It may not suite everyone's tastes, but no one can deny this soundtrack's quality.

Story:
Ok, HERE'S where people start arguing.
The basic underlying plot of the game is solid and interesting. However, FFX-2 has a VERY different flavor from traditional Final Fantasy storytelling. Simply put, it looks very similar to something out of Charlie's Angels. Mind you, it DOES work, but isn't what many people look for in a Final Fantasy title. Phrases like "you GO, girl!" will give you a pretty accurate mental image of what to expect. And Rikku's brother is just ... strange.
Many people dismissed FFX-2 over it's "Charlie's Angels" flavor, but don't be fooled; this game has many virtues. Personally, I like seeing that Square is willing to add some variety and experiment with their franchises. It's different, but in the end, it's a solid, enjoyable game.

Just don't play it when there are other guys in the room unless you enjoy mockery.

I didn't mind the battle system. I didn't really care for it either, I was indifferent about it. One thing I did enjoy about it was the fact that you could change your suits(There was a specific type of item, not called suits, that did this for you. It was FFX-2's version of the class system found in FF Tactics and FF5) in the middle of a fight. But I hated FFX-2(what I played of it, anyway). What pissed me off was it seemed I'd get attacked by an "oversoul" enemy about 50% of the time at a low level, which would end up just killing my party instantly. On top of that, the story doesn't really make sense. There are two people who just fought this big thing that had been terrorizing the planet for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. It was very powerful, yet they helped to defeat it. A year, 2 years, or however long after FFX it's meant to take place, they're suddenly weak again. WTF? I don't honestly expect them to be powerful as hell and just breeze thru the game, but to suddenly make them inexplicably weak doesn't work either. I think this is partially why Squaresoft never really makes true sequels to their games. They're usually loosely connected by some common important item/legend/whatever, or there's NO connection whatsoever. Whatever their reason for this, I wish they would have kept it that way. I didn't feel FFX deserved a sequel in the first place.

FFX wasn't that great, but it was at least playable. FFX-2, however, was a crap fest. I couldn't play it for even a full week.
