Wow, has it really been 4 months since the last update? Sorry about that! Truth is, while I can afford little time for site updates, work on the project continues as we near the completion of our presentation packet for Square-Enix. And it seems like the timing couldn't have been more interesting, either, given the fact that Square-Enix just announced (2 days ago) that Chrono Trigger will be released for the Nintendo DS and should be available around Christmastime. (Please send all gifts to our PO box address on the contacts page.) |
Upon our discovery of the cryptic Square-Enix countdown page, which features a Nintendo DS logo and a clock ticking to the well-known Chrono pendulum sound effect, the CTNP Committee began discussing the implications of this exciting development on the Novel Project. I can tell you that we're all ecstatic to see this new life in the Chrono series, which is an indicator that Square is again giving some attention to this truly timeless classic. No doubt, Chrono fans everywhere are dusting off their old Player's Guides and getting ready for a fresh release (its third platform, mind you) of CT. In terms of the CTNP, we see this as a very positive development that couldn't have been timed any better. This will bring countless fans back into the online community who had long left for newer games and increase the exposure of projects like this one. We also see it as a cooperative opportunity. As the hype of the new release should bring new interest to the novel, the novel will bring increased interest in the series with its in-depth portrayal of the story in a completely different form of media. Thus, we can only hope that Square-Enix will share in our spirit of cooperation upon review of our project and all of the meticulous effort that has accompanied it.

Finally, we have some new fan submissions from MagusChild. The first is another unique Fan Craft submission: a CTNP t-shirt, modeled by Yours Truly (CT Novelist). The second is another nice piece of Fan Art of Magus carrying Schala. As always, enjoy, and Happy Independence Day!
