The new Nintendo DS release of Chrono Trigger includes many script differences from the original English SNES version. One of the most prominent of these changes is the switch from Frog's Shakespearean-like English to standard English. This makes his lines more consistent with the other characters in the game, but it arguably removes one of the more beloved aspects of his personality.

So, the question asked in this poll has to do with your preference of Frog's speech. Do you like it better in Shakespearean or modern English?

Personally, I liked his original speech pattern best.
However, I feel that if his character should have a Middle English accent, then everyone else from his era should also speak in the same dialect.
I'm not exactly sure, but I think that he spoke like everyone else before he was transformed into a frog, so if anything, his speech pattern should be based more along the lines of altered vocal cords, then actual dialect.

I loved the Middle English...I thought it was a great character quirk, and even though I was bothered by the fact that he was the only one with it in 600ad, I realized that it's probably a guise to make him appear more formal. I mean, come on, how formal is a Frog anyway?

I think the "middle English" (Early Modern English?) is right on the mark! (I think it was Early Modern English my self, however.)I think that every one in that time spoke it but since it would be hard on players/writters they just gave it to Frog. I think they the big reason they changed Frogs tongue is because they put the Game on DS and they think its for little kinds only.
