I have got a couple of ideas. Please hear me out.
Wayne, I think you are a good author, but not a great author, no offense. I'm not saying I'm any better, but you could use some help. Hell, when I was 13 I wrote a 500 hundred page fan fic loosely based on the whole final fantasy series but yet it was something entirely separate. I incorporated many themes from the series, but no actual plot lines or characters. And it was a lot deeper than what (little) I've read of your work. You need to make it seem as though you are creating these characters all on your own and introducing them to an audience who has never heard of them (which will likely be the case if this novel is ever completed and published,) Honestly, I think a good idea would be to find a co-author of best-selling caliber that would agree to help you write and re-write the entire book. As far as that goes, I don't have any suggestions of who that co-author should be, but it wouldn't hurt to explore for one.Dont get me wrong, I love the idea of your novel, but the work itself needs to be improved and expanded a little.
And I feel there are a few more things you could be doing to get the word out there. For example, it wouldn't hurt one bit(excuse me if you've already done this without my realizing it) to set up a profile on a couple different social networking sites i.e. Myspace, Facebook, Fubar, etc. There you would surely find a good following of a wide range range of supporters from all different demographics.
And I know you would most likely need financial support for this one, but try advertising and merch! Hell, I know I would wear a CTNP shirt. As a matter of fact, I'm an apprentice at a tattoo shop in Albemarle NC (Chameleon 2), and I've been planning for the longest time to get a Crono tat. And once I become a full-fledged tattoo artist and start making the big bucks, I'd be more than happy to contribute some finances toward advertising and what not. Some day I even want to open my own business, a place where kids and teens can come hang out and play videogames and trading cards and all that and I would call it Crono's duel hall. I'd advertise the Novel project all over the place and sell the merch. And the book once it gets published! You could give people shirts I mean just give them away, if they donate to your cause. So you wouldn't actually be selling people SE copyrighted products, you'd just be getting the word out and drawing support for your cause, totally non profit.
I mean, tell me if I'm wrong but you could do that stuff.
